Crater Studs

Disks are 3/8 inch in diameter and hand made from fine silver. Backs have a linear texture for contrast.

The earrings are made from precious metal clay (PMC), which consists of recycled silver particles embedded in a binder. The clay is worked into a desired shape, dried, and then fired in a kiln. At high temperatures, the binder burns off, leaving .999% fine silver! The silver piece can then be treated with traditional metalsmithing techniques, such as dapping, forging, burnishing, and polishing. A patina is added for character and to highlight textures.

Backs have a contemporary linear texture and are signed by the artist.

Each pair is entirely handmade.  Please expect minor variations.
