A sweet, feminine necklace with a vintage aesthetic.
Cowrie shells have been used for thousands of years across many cultures as a form of currency. They've been used in divination, and prized as charms thought to bestow good luck. They've been used as game pieces and sewn into elaborate ornamental garments.
Here, the cowrie shell is topped with a pretty sterling bud and hung from a 16 inch sterling chain. The chain has a 2 inch extension so that you can clasp it anywhere between 16 and 18 inches to compliment your neckline.
The silver is oxidized with a patina and tumbled to a soft, matte finish.
Packaged in a lovely gift box, and carefully shipped to you! Enjoy!
